Juventus forward Paulo Dybala has spoken of the joy in being called up for the first time by Argentina.

The former Palermo player could win his first cap for Gerardo Martino’s side as they kick off their World Cup 2018 qualifying campaign with matches against Ecuador and Paraguay.

“This is a very important time in my career, it was not an easy journey,” Dybala told reporters

“It is a dream and I am here to learn.

“If I play I will be very happy but if not then I will support the group, I am at the complete disposal of Martino and the team.”

Even with captain Lionel Messi out injured, Dybala may struggle to find a place in the Argentinian starting XI although the Juve forward is taking it all in stride.

“I am training with some of the best players in the world, to see them work every day will be a great learning experience,” Dybala noted.

Italy was never an option for me, my only desire was to play for Argentina.

“Now I am only thinking about taking advantage of this moment and making my dreams come true.”
