Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has thanked the club and their fans for the faith they have shown in him.
The 28-year-old German international made his long awaited debut as the Serie A campions defeated Sevilla 2-0 at the Juventus Stadium in Turin on Wednesday night.
“It is an awesome feeling to be back on the pitch and to be part of such a great team,” Khedira said on his official Facebook page.
“A very special thanks to all the fans for your unbelievable support.
“This feels like coming home!”
Khedira made the move from Real Madrid to the Bianconeri on a free-transfer during the summer before suffering a thigh injury during a pre-season friendly against Marseille back in August.
The victory over Sevilla put Juventus at the top of their Champions League table, which is in stark contrast to their domestic woes, were they have managed only one victory after six league fixtures.
