Ricardo Kishna vented on Friday about why he felt compelled to leave Ajax in the summer and join Lazio.

The 20-year-old Dutchman spent five years in Ajax’s youth academy before breaking into the first team last season, making 34 appearances in all competitions.

Speaking to Voetbal Magazine, Kishna laid out his reasoning for leaving his native Netherlands behind and moving to the Italian capital.

“I reached the decision to leave Ajax in March, after the last argument with [head coach Frank] de Boer,” Kishna began.

“I began to think that de Boer had it out for me, because shortly after I was excluded from the trip to Heerenveen.

“The relationship with the coach was hopelessly compromised, for me there was no other solution than to leave.

“I only regret that the Ajax fans have not seen the real Kishna.”

Lazio purchased the player from Ajax in July for a fee rumoured to be €4 million.
