Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia is facing a spell on the sidelines after becoming the latest injury casualty of the international break.

This month’s international break has claimed a number of high-profile scalps, with all of Sergio Aguero, Karim Benzema, Paul Pogba, Mario Gotze and David Silva among many others falling victim to injuries within the past week, and now Biglia has joined the long list.

The official website of the Argentina national team confirmed Biglia’s injury, stating that he suffered a problem with his pectineus muscle.

Biglia will undergo further tests once he arrives back in Rome for Lazio training, but the early indicators suggest that he will be out for at least two weeks.

Argentina’s 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign got off to a dismal start with a 2-0 loss at home to Ecuador on Friday, and they will be hoping for better away at Paraguay on Wednesday.
