Beleaguered English Champions Chelsea, who succumbed to a 3-1 loss at the hands of Southampton and struggling Liverpool, who axed coach Brendan Rodgers yesterday after a 1-1 draw at Everton, have reportedly earmarked former Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti to be their next gaffer.

Chelsea currently lie as low as 16th in the English Premier League while Liverpool stand at 10th place, behind the likes of Manchester City, United, Arsenal and Tottenham, who are the other 4 members of the league’s regular top six.

As per a variety of sources, including TuttoMercatoWeb and CalcioNews24  and the Daily Mail, not just Liverpool are targeting the Italian, but Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho’s position is being assessed by owner Roman Abramovich and if results don’t improve, a sacking could be on the way, paving way for the Italian’s second coming to Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool could be set for an acid test after the international break, as the Reds would face a stiff trip to Spurs, while Chelsea would welcome Aston Villa to Stamford Bridge.
