Antonio Conte ItalyFormer Juventus and Sampdoria midfielder Domenico Marocchino believes that Italy coach Antonio Conte will leave his job after Euro 2016.

Conte’s contract is expected to run out after Euro 2016 and a renewal of his deal has yet to be signed, sparking speculation that he may leave in the summer.

“Will Conte leave after the Euros? Yes, because he is a coach who wants to work day after day as he has often said, and I think in the summer he will end his role as coach.” said Marocchino to Tuttomercatoweb.

“Could Conte go to AC Milan or Roma? Why not both? He could do as [Nils] Liedholm did”

The 58-year-old was also asked about the controversy surrounding Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne who recently dropped out of the squad for the next two qualifiers.

“There is a clear disproportion between the games played with the clubs and those with the national team,” added Marocchino.

“Economic interests are unfortunately the master.

“I think that any player should always prefer the shirt of his national team but I do not think that Insigne has given up this chance lightly.

“I think that physical problems have forced him out of the squad on this occasion.”

Finally the one-cap Italy international talked about the Juventus’s start to the season.

“The squad has changed a lot and they have lost a few games just due to bad luck,” Marocchino went on.

“Let’s say just say they should have more points right now.

“The game against Inter will be a challenge but I still favour Juventus. ”
