AC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic believes that referees are punishing his side by giving out yellow cards for innocuous fouls.
The Rossoneri under Mihajlovic have drawn criticism from some over the amount of cards they receive from officials, but their Serbian coach is insistent that it has nothing to do with his players.
“I never talk about referees as I don’t like to, but some warnings are exaggerated by giving cards for fouls that do not deserve them,” he said in his pre-match press conference.
“If, after a while, you have many different players all getting yellow cards, then you have to make decisions based on that,” he continued.
AC Milan host Napoli on Sunday, where all three points could lift them as high as fourth in the Serie A table after an unimpressive start.
