Mihajlovic MilanAC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic stated that Napoli were simply the better team after succumbing to a 4-0 defeat at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Sunday.

The Rossoneri have had a mixed start to the 2015/16 Serie A, and Sunday’s defeat has left Milan in 11th.

“I know it’s bad to say, but tonight we lost to the better team,” Mihajlovic told Mediaset.

“The difference was made by their attackers and our defence.

“The boys actually did well in the first half, but the second goal at the beginning of the second-half changed the game.

“They are strong though, and as for my earlier point, I am not focusing just on the defenders as the problem.”

In a week where Mihajovic said he owed a lot to both Silvio Berlusconi and Adriano Galliani for the faith they’ve shown in him,  results are yet to improve as Milan have suffered consecutive defeats.

“I am indebted to them and I will be for life,” said Mihajlovic.

“I’m sorry for the result.

“If I look at the glass half full, at least we started well.

“We were balanced in the first-half, and we closed out the spaces well.

“We must continue to work, what we cannot do, is lose our confidence because of this defeat and learn to avoid our mistakes, which are often individual.

“They’ll train during the week, and they’ll work harder.”
