Erick Thohir Massimo Moratti InterInter’s honorary president Massimo Moratti believes that the 2015-16 Serie A season has been so open that a large number of teams can seriously aim to win the Scudetto.

The former president is also hopeful that the Nerazzurri win their next fixture at home to Juventus as there is a precedent for the Milanese side winning the league after emerging victorious in the Derby d’Italia.

“I don’t know if Serie A has become more balanced or if the quality in general has dropped, but at the moment it’s in a state where every side can hope to do well,” said Moratti to Mediaset Premium Sport.

“Juventus? When we last won the league we beat them on the way so you could say that it might happen again.”

The Italian businessman also shed some light onto current owner Erick Thohir’s relationship with the club.

“He has Inter in his DNA, he is very close to the club,” Moratti went on.

“The club take up about 80 per cent of his life now so I hope that he can express what he has done for Inter.

“I have loads of great memories from my time as president from my simple relationship with the fans and the people who worked for us, up to the victories that we achieved together.”
