NAPOLI CALCIONELLA FOTO: VALDIFIORIFOTO MOSCANapoli midfielder Mirko Valdifiori has settled in well at his new club and foresees great things to come under coach Maurizio Sarri.

The 29-year-old has made four starts for Napoli since his arrival from Empoli in the summer transfer window.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, Valdifiori emphasized how well his new club is adapting to Sarri’s philosophy.

“This is a team that has followed the coach since day one,” the Italian international said.

“I see harmony everywhere.

“There is a desire to do well, to impress and achieve results.

“Sarri gave us an identity and over the past two weeks we have earned good results.”

Valdifiori has managed not to be overawed by the atmosphere or some of his super-star teammates, though he’s had to content himself with splitting time with fellow defensive midfielder Jorginho.

“There is a special feeling when you see major players train with you, but then when you go into the locker room you know that besides being stars they are also good guys who will help put you at ease,” the midfielder continued.

“In a great team there are many great players.

“It’s good to have the depth necessary to rotate when there are so many games.

“When I arrived at the club, [Sarri] immediately said [Jorginho and I] would be splitting time on the pitch evenly.

“For me the important thing is to train and to be ready whenever the coach needs me.”
