Palermo 4-2 at the Stadio Renzo Barbera on Sunday afternoon in Serie A, and subject the hosts to a fourth consecutive loss.

Goals from Miralem Pjanic, Alessandro Florenzi and a Gervinho double saw the Giallorossi comfortably past the Rosanero, who responded through Alberto Gilardino and Giancarlo Gonzalez.

It took the visitors just two minutes to take the lead, Pjanic and Florenzi with a quick one-two that ended with the Bosnian bursting into the box and delicately lifting the ball over Stefano Sorrentino.

Then, despite recovering their composure and taking control of possession, the Rosanero fell further behind 10 minutes later.

The Giallorossi breaking quickly down the right and, after Pjanic had mishit his attempt at goal, the ball made its way to Florenzi who turned excellently and fired past the goalkeeper.

It was a similar story for the third, Gervinho bursting down the left, cutting inside and skipping past two defenders to curl wonderful shot into the top corner.

Palermo nearly reduced the deficit on 31 minutes, but Franco Vazquez could only send his header rattling against the crossbar.

The Rosanero did find the net in the 59th minute, Vazquez floating the ball over the Roma defence to substitute Gilardino who, after taking a neat first touch, stroked past Wojciech Szczesny.

However, despite having the better of the second period, Palermo failed to significantly worry the Roman defence until injury-time when Gonzalez headed a Vazquez cross into the net.

That goal sparked the Giallorossi back into life though, as Gervinho quickly grabbed a late fourth for Roma, stabbing the ball beyond Sorrentino.

After the international break, the Giallorossi welcome Empoli to the capital looking to secure a third victory in a row, while the Sicilians will be hoping the extra week off can help them overcome Bologna when Serie A resumes.
