Enrico Preziosi GenoaGenoa President Enrico Preziosi says he has nothing to worry about after he became embroiled in an investigation which alleges the Rossoblu received illegal assistance in order to meet financial criteria as a Serie A club.

Police have raided the offices of Serie A as well as other clubs as part of a wider investigation into the distribution of TV broadcasting rights concerning the rights agency Infront, Sky Italia and Mediaset.

According to the Corriere della Sera, Preziosi’s Genoa allegedly received a payment of €15 million in order to meet Serie A’s financial criteria.

“It is absolutely untrue,” Preziosi told the Corriere della Sera of the allegation.

“It was a payment of €15m which was issued in three tranches from my Swiss account which is regularly declared to the Italian authorities, I am calm.

“The TV rights? Apart from Fiorentina who abstained, every club was in favour of the deal.”

Preziosi also hit out at rumours that he has undue influence in the governance of Italian football.

“Myself, [Adriano] Galliani and [Claudio] Lotito are the masters of Italian football? Only a fool would believe that,” added Preziosi.

“It’s ridiculous to think that 17 Presidents are in the hands of three people.”
