Chievo midfielder Nicola Rigoni has extended his contract at the Verona-based side, which will see him stay at the club until 2018.

The 24-year-old has been an important figure for the Flying Donkeys so far this season, featuring in each of their seven Serie A matches to date.

Tuttomercatoweb reported that the player was delighted to have signed a new deal to stay at the Stadio Bentegodi.

“I am very happy to have renewed my contract with Chievo,” the Italian began.

“I want to repay the trust that the club have shown in me,” Rigoni added.

The ex-Palermo man signed for the Gialloblu in 2012 but has been loaned out on three occasions, however, he is keen to use this contract extension as a fresh start at the club.

“This renewal is a new starting point for me at the club.”

Since his arrival at the Bentegodi, Rigoni has spent time at Vicenza, Reggina and Cittadella on loan.
