Roma in the January transfer window.
Ranocchia has found first-team football hard to come by this season with the likes of Jeison Murillo and Miranda preferred to the Italian international.
According to Sportmediaset, due to the Giallorossi’s need for a defender and Ranocchia’s desire for first-team football before the European Championships in France, the two could come to a constructive resolution in the winter.
This season the 27-year-old has made just five appearances, all of them as a substitute for Roberto Mancini’s team.
Last season he managed to make 33 Serie A appearances and also scored twice as the Biscione finished eighth at the end of the season.
Ranocchia also has 20 caps for his country.
