Roma midfielder Seydou Keita will not make his playing return until mid-November after medical tests estimated he faces five more weeks on the sidelines through injury.

The Mali international was substituted after injuring his thigh during the Giallorossi’s recent 5-1 victory over Carpi at the Stadio Olimpico.

“Today’s tests reveal that his injured hamstring (the myotendinous junction of the semimembranosus muscle in his right thigh) is healing well,” read a statement on the club’s official website.

“The player is expected to return to competitive action in around five weeks’ time.”

As a result, Keita who has made six appearances for the Lupi this season, will miss vital clashes away to Fiorentina and Inter, as well as Champions League games home and away against Bayer Leverkusen.
