Giuseppe Rossi’s agent Andrea Pastorello has praised the stiker’s emotional goal, but wants the Fiorentina man to stay focused.
Rossi scored against Belenenses in the Europa League on Thursday night, his first goal since May 2014.
Speaking to TuttoMercatoWeb, Pastorello said: “We are very happy, especially Giuseppe, but also me and the whole entourage.
“But we must stay focused: the path to be back at his best is still long and he will have to work hard and stay concentrated.
“This goal is an important moment for him that will give him extra motivation.
“Rossi has worked hard to reach this result.”
Regarding the physical condition of the Viola’s number 22, Pastorello added: “He can play a game, but he still has to reach the level where he can actually make a difference.
“Paulo Sousa is using him in the best way possible to ensure the best condition is reached.”
Rossi recently changed the terms of his contract with Fiorentina, with less fixed terms and more bonuses.
“It is something unique in football, quite rare. Usually in these cases the player would get a contract extension, but here only the terms have changed but the contract remains for the current length. It’s not common, a great act by Rossi,” concluded Pastorello.
