Torino have snapped up Ukrainian defender Vasyl Pryima on a free transfer to ease their defensive worries.

An injury crisis has depleted the Granata, with trio Pontus Jansson, Bruno Peres and Nikola Maksimovic all being ruled out of upcoming fixtures, and the club have dipped into the unattached player market to find a solution.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Pryima arrived at Torino’s training ground on Thursday to undergo medical tests and participate in a squad training session.

The 24-year-old left former side Metalurh Donetsk after they were dissolved due to financial troubles caused by the war in eastern Ukraine, and prior to his Serie A move had not been picked up by any other club.

Pryima has nine Under-21 Ukraine caps to his name, as well as a total of 123 senior league appearances in the European nation’s domestic league.
