Andrea Bertolacci ItalyAC Milan midfielder Andrea Bertolacci will miss this Saturday’s tie against Sampdoria at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza as the player picked up an injury in training.

The Italian was injured in his side’s stunning 3-1 away win against Lazio at the beginning of November and he was due to return to the squad this Saturday, but another fitness problem has delayed the player’s comeback.

“At the end of yesterday’s training session, Andrea Bertolacci’s rectus femoris muscle injury flared up again in his left thigh, the midfielder’s fitness will be assessed again based on his clinical progress,” a statement read on the club’s official website.

This is already the third time this season that the Italian international has experienced injury issues.

The midfielder joined the Rossoneri this past summer for a fee of around €20 million from Roma, following an impressive 2014-15 campaign where he made 34 Serie A appearances on loan at Genoa, scoring six goals and providing eight assists.
