AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli has said he will return to first-team action following surgery in just two weeks rather the prescribed month.

The 25-year-old underwent surgery to solve a groin injury which has plagued him since the early weeks of the season, and as a result he has only been able to make four appearances for the Rossoneri so far this season.

“It won’t take four weeks for me to play, I will return in the next two,” the Italian international said when asked to talk about his recovery by Sky Sport Italia at Milanello airport.

Before his injury, the former Inter striker had been showing signs of improvement and was pleasing the Diavolo fans with his purposeful displays.

Ballotelli is currently on loan from Liverpool, who he endured a dire first season with as he scored just four goals during 28 appearances.
