AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli could be about to miss the next three months of the season after undergoing surgery on his groin.
The Italian international picked up the injury ahead of his side’s 4-0 Serie A defeat to Napoli at the beginning of October and he has been out of action since.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Balotelli is expected to undergo surgery later this week in an attempt to fix the injury which has persisted for much longer than initially expected.
Before his injury, the former Inter player had impressed Milan fans with his performances for the side.
From four Serie A appearances so far during the 2015-16 season, Balotelli has scored one goal.
Balotelli is currently experiencing his second spell with the Rossoneri on loan from Liverpool, his last time with the club came between 2012 and 2014.
