inler leicesterLeicester City’s Gokhan Inler and Zenit St Petersburg’s Axel Witsel have both been linked with a move to AC Milan.

The Belgian was linked with a move to the Rossoneri for much of the summer window but the deal failed to materialise.

According to Tuttosport, Witsel remains Milan’s prime target although he is not expected to join until the summer with EURO 2016 set to be used as a stage to further scout the 26-year-old.

The 31-year-old former Napoli man Inler has been linked with a loan move away from table toppers Leicester in January as he has struggled to find playing time for Claudio Ranieri’s side.

The Switzerland international’s agent suggested a move back to Italy might be beneficial as his client looks to tie down a place in the national team for the European Championship in France.

Inler has made just two starts and one substitute appearance for the Foxes since leaving the Stadio San Paolo over the summer.

Meanwhile, Witsel has started 15 Russian Premier League matches and scored once for Zenit St Petersburg and he has also scored one goal from four Champions League starts.
