AC Milan have intensified their interest in Cesena midfield prodigy Stefano Sensi.

The 20-year-old, who spent last season on loan at then Lega Pro side San Marino, has impressed top Serie A clubs with his performances so far this season.

Despite strong interest from Juventus and more recently Genoa, the Rossoneri have now joined the hunt for the Urbino-born midfield talent according to Tuttomercatoweb.com

Sensi has played 11 matches in Serie B for the Cavallucci Marini, scoring twice. He also started and finished their recent Coppa Italia victory over Catania.

Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic has numerous options in midfield, with Jose Mauri, Antonio Nocerino and Suso among those making up the reserves.

Vice-president Adriano Galliani views Sensi as a potential successor to Riccardo Montolivo, who has had his problems with injury.

Cesena were only relegated from Serie A last season, but are confident of securing a tidy sum for Sensi; reportedly €10m.

SportItalia claims Milan have held a meeting at Casa Milan to discuss the midfielder, who they value at €7m-€8m.

However, they will have to move quickly to, as Juventus are thought to have already made contact with Cesena for Sensi. Both sides are hoping to sign the player in January but will allow him to return to Cesena on loan.
