Arsenal have been linked with a move for Napoli’s Brazilian-born Italian midfielder Jorginho.
The 23-year-old struggled to assert himself initially after moving from Hellas Verona in 2014, but he has since become a key part of Maurizio Sarri’s side as the Partenopei sit in fourth place after their 12 opening Serie A fixtures.
According to the Mirror, the Premier League side have been scouting the midfielder with a view to a January view switch.
“One of the head scouts at Arsenal is well-known so I know that he was at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris for the Genoa v Napoli match,” Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos was quoted as saying to Radio Crc.
Napoli are likely to be reluctant to allow the player to leave following his upturn in form and they will be wary of jeopardising a winning formula with the Azzurri unbeaten in their last 15 matches in all competitions.
