Atalanta’s unbeaten record at home this season came to an end on Sunday afternoon as they were beaten 1-0 by Torino at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia in Serie A.

In a fairly uneventful encounter, it was Cesare Bovo who made all the difference five minutes into the second half after Andrea Belotti wasted several chances in front of the opposing goal to increase their margin of victory.

There were a couple of chances for the Granata in the opening 10 minutes with Belotti failing to convert any of them, including a missed opportunity to tap the ball in from a few yards out from a ball across the face of goal.

A few scrambles in the penalty area followed, but it took 41 minutes for Atalanta to even get their first shot on goal with a shot from outside the area that was comfortably dealt with by Daniele Padelli.

The biggest chance of the half came just before the whistle blew with another effort from Belotti striking the crossbar before rebounding out into a safe position.

Torino finally got the goal they deserved early on in the second half when a powerful Cesare Bovo volley flew into the back of the net and gave Marco Sportiello no chance in goal.

The hosts had their best chance of the match with 20 minutes to go with the threatening German Denis picking up a good through-ball but he couldn’t take advantage of his attacking position and it remained 1-0.

Just seconds later, Belotti had yet another chance to double his side’s lead but his shot on goal fizzed wide of the post and he couldn’t find the goal he deserved for his efforts, despite eventually getting the ball in the back of the net, only to be ruled offside.

The loss for La Dea puts them in 10th place in the league table, while three points for Torino takes them into ninth.
