giacomo bonaventura ac milanAC Milan midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura has confessed that he and his Rossoneri team-mates have not performed to an adequate standard this season.

The former Atalanta man spoke in the aftermath of a 1-0 defeat to reigning Scudetto holders Juventus, which sees Sinisa Mihajlovic’s side drop below the Bianconeri into seventh place in the Serie A table.

“We are all aware that what we have done so far this season is not enough,” Bonaventura told Sky Sport Italia.

“All of the players need to give everything we have for this shirt to try to turn things around as soon as we can,” the Italian added.

The man who is affectionately known as Jack continued to say that their most recent defeat would inspire a reaction from the team, insisting that they were keen to bounce back in the next game away to rock-bottom Carpi.

“We are hurt by this defeat, but it gives us a desire to bounce back and puts us in a better position to face the upcoming matches.”

Bonaventura has been in fine form for the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza side this season, and has scored twice and assisted a further five goals for Milan in his 12 Serie A appearances so far.
