AC Milan SampdoriaGiacomo Bonaventura feels AC Milan were fully deserving of the three points earned against Sampdoria on Saturday night at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The Italian opened the scoring after latching onto M’baye Niang’s driven ball across the penalty area, and went onto win a penalty to help double the advantage for the home side.

“We did well, but we have to keep on wining after this game,” Bonaventura told Premium Sport after the match.

“We played with a 4-4-2 formation and were very orderly.

“We caused a lot of problems for Sampdoria.

“It was a deserved victory and we are on the right path.”

Sampdoria experienced a tough reunion with former coach Sinisa Mihajlovic, as M’baye Niang scored his first two goals of the campaign and was given credit by Bonaventura.

“Today we did things with great conviction and with a will to win,” said the former Atalanta man.

“Niang has great physical strength and is strong player much like our other strikers.”
