the 2-1 win away to Genoa puts his team on the path to Serie A survival.
The Biancorossi were on the bottom of the table before the game but goals from Marco Borriello and Cristian Zaccardo secured a historical away win for the Serie A newcomers.
Castori spoke about how Borriello had to be managed because he had returned from a muscle injury, with the veteran coming off the bench in the second half to score.
“Borriello was out for a month. He was managed because of the tempo of the match,” Castori told RAI Sport.
“I told him I would need him at the break. He was determined to contribute, but all the squad played a beautiful game and got a great victory that puts us on track for survival. We never lost hope but we were obviously a few points adrift.”
Carpi are now 19th in the Serie A table with nine points after 14 matches.
