Antonio Di Natale - Udinese's legendary number 10.

Ahead of Udinese’s clash with Chievo tomorrow both Antonio Di Natale and coach Stefano Colantuono have insisted there is no issues between them.

The Zebrette have endured a difficult week, with Di Natale said to be on the brink of retirement, something Colantuono acknowledged in his pre-game press conference.

“Di Natale will not start tomorrow,” he revealed, “but I want to clarify that there was never any problem between us. Antonio has been available for 11 games this season. Of these 11, he started seven and was a substitute in four. I do not understand all the pandemonium.”

“I would like to know,” he continued, “which coach would come to Udinese and start a disagreement with Di Natale. Only a fool.”

He went on to disclose that he had discussed the matter of retirement with the veteran.

“I spoke with Antonio and asked him to help us out,” he said, “then when the league stops in January, take stock and make a decision along with the president. They have a relationship that goes far beyond just football.”

The Zebrette go into the clash in Verona with just one win in their last five games.
