Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco has lamented Domenico Berardi’s actions as he was sent-off in the Neroverdi’s 2-1 loss to Genoa.

Berardi was sent-off for a kick-out at Christian Ansaldi just before half-time, as was Diego Perotti for his reaction. Genoa took the lead in the 51st minute through Tomas Rincon before Francesco Acerbi thought he scored an equaliser in stoppage time. However, right at the death Leonardo Pavoletti headed in the winner.

“He gets sent off and suspended regularly, it’s becoming an issue.” said Di Francesco after the match to Rai Sport.

“His exit ruined our game plan.

“We conceded a silly goal at the end. We should have defended it better.

“We did better in the first-half when it was eleven against eleven. Then I think we tired in the second-half.
