Roberto Donadoni BolognaBologna coach Roberto Donadoni has played down his impressive start to his reign at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, warning that the road is still long for the season ahead.

Donadoni replaced Delio Rossi in late October after the Rossoblu endured eight losses from their opening 10 games, since which the former Azzurri coach has recorded two consecutive wins over Atalanta and Hellas Verona.

“The road is still very long and difficult, competition is strong but we must believe,” Donadoni told SkySport Italia.

“There is not much we can do in such a short time. We have to continue working and the guys have been very helpful.”

Donadoni also commented on the Rossoblu’s upcoming fixture against Scudetto contenders, Roma.

“There is a large amount of competition in the league but Roma are a team that will play to the end.

“We have to be very careful and concentrated because they are of a very high quality.

“[Mattia] Destro? He has an ankle problem which we are monitoring.

“I hope it is nothing serious and he will be available for Roma but for the next two or three days he will remain stationary.”

The Felsinei will go into match week 13 in 16th position with Donadoni looking to continue their recent resurgence.
