Empoli left back Mario Rui Silva Duarte has now renewed his contract at the club
The 24-year-old Portuguese Mario Rui predominantly plays as a left back and has appeared a total of 13 times this season for Marco Giampaolo’s Stadio Carlo Castellani based side.
As per the official Empoli website, Mario Rui has now successfully extended his deal at Azzurri and he’s now contracted to Empoli until June 2019.
An official statement on the website read: “Empoli FC announces that it has reached an agreement to renew the contract of player Mario Rui Silva Duarte until 30 June 2019 ”
Rui joined Empoli back in 2013, from the then Serie A side Parma for a fee in the region of €550,000.
He played a substantial role in Empoli’s restoration of their Serie A status, by making as many as 26 appearances during his first season at the club.
