Fiorentina are interested in bringing West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna back to Italy.

The Italy international departed the peninsula during the summer in an €11 million move from Serie A champions Juventus to English Premier League side West Ham, but there is already interest in bringing the player back home, not even a year later.

CalcioMercato.it report that Paulo Sousa’s Fiorentina see the centre back as an ideal signing.

The Viola are currently top of the Serie A table and are presumably making preparations to spend money to further boost their chances of remaining in such a position.

Inter are level on points with the Florence side, but have an inferior goal difference.

Ogbonna has made 10 appearances for Italy during his career, but hasn’t featured for the Azzurri since 2014.

Despite making 25 Serie A appearances for Juventus last season, he was deemed surplus to requirements once the campaign reached its conclusion.
