Alessandro Florenzi has heaped praise on the current Roma side, believing that it is the strongest line-up he has played in.

The versatile 24-year-old, who was a product of the club’s youth academy, has made 120 Serie A appearances for the Giallorossi since he was promoted to the first team back in 2011.

And Florenzi, who featured for Serie B side Crotone on-loan back in season 2011-12, is determined to the capital club win more silverware in the future.

In terms of the strength of other teams, this is the strongest Roma side I played in,” he said.

“We’re getting better and better and we are aiming to bring home as many trophies as possible.

“Edin Dzeko, who is a top player, is helping to change the side and obtain good results. We miss [Francesco] Totti a lot as well as he is crucial not only for the person he is but also for what he offers to the club.”

Florenzi then went on to address speculation regarding his future at the Stadio Olimpico, with suggestions he could be on the way to Barcelona, who they will face in their midweek Champions League clash.

“Barcelona’s interest? You have to live day by day, without thinking about tomorrow.

“I’m enjoying my splendid Roma, after that we’ll see. Now I’m thinking about winning here but I’d be lying to say that I’m not flattered by Barca’s interest. It means I’m doing well and I’m on the right track.

“But it’s certainly going to be a difficult game with Barca. They’re the strongest team in the world, but against them at the Olimpico we managed a good result.

“It all will depend on us and our attitude on the day.”
