Former AC Milan and Juventus coach Carlo Ancelotti says that he would be open to a return to Real Madrid, despite receiving his marching orders from the club in the summer.

Los Blancos opted to replace the Italian with former Napoli boss Rafael Benitez, a move which has since spiralled out of control, with reports claiming club star Cristiano Ronaldo has threatened to quit unless Benitez leaves the side.

“The Real Madrid crisis? Let’s be slow with our judgements as it is just the beginning,” Ancelotti told RAI Radio.

“The players there have the ability to revive the situation.”

On Saturday night Real Madrid lost 4-0 at the hands of title rivals Barcelona, with the misery increased by the humiliation being in their own stadium.

“What if Perez called me back to Real Madrid? I said that I would take a year off from football. Many teams have tried for me but I decided to stay away from football,” he continued.

“Start again with Real Madrid after that year has passed? Why not. I could also start over at Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain.”
