Former Fiorentina forward Mario Gomez has denied to be interested in an Italian comeback at the end of the season, being on loan from the Viola to Turkish side Besiktas.

The 30-year-old striker has spoken about his current situation, declaring himself highly pleased for the new attention he is receiving from the German international team.

“I have been having two difficult years with Fiorentina” Gomez said to Sport Mediaset.

“Now I’m starting to feel good again. I don’t want to go back to Fiorentina, at the end of this loan. Thanks to Besiktas I’m back with Germany, and coach [Joachim] Low is considering me for the European Cup, along with other strikers”.

“I do not have any reason for leaving Turkey”, concluded the German.

Gomez has played 11 games of the Turkish Super Lig so far, scoring eight goals, as well as four Europa League matches, in which he scored one goal.
