FrosinoneFrosinone and Genoa will lock horns at the Stadio Matusa on Sunday at 15:00 in Serie A.

Both sides sit in the bottom half of the table with the home team just one point above the relegation zone.

The Ciocari were thrashed 4-1 away to Fiorentina last time out, whilst the Rossoblu tenaciously drew 0-0 against Napoli.

The two teams last faced each other almost 10 years ago in the 2006-07 Serie B season when Genoa won the corresponding fixture 2-0 on their way to promotion to Serie A that season.

The Grifone however had a bad start to this season and have only picked up two points from a potential 18 away from home.

Frosinone have also been reliant on their home form after beating Empoli, Sampdoria and Carpi at the Stadio Matusa.

Striker Federico Dionisi told reporters that their survival depends on their home form and another victory  would be the fourth consecutive one at home.

The fixture is likely to be a low-scoring one given that both sides are in the bottom four of the table in terms of goals scored; Frosinone have netted nine and Genoa 10.

Coach Roberto Stellone, himself once a former Genoa player, has four former Grifone players at his disposal in Aleandro Rosi, Robert Gucher, Davide Bertoncini and Samuele Longo.

Stellone will benefit from an almost fully fit squad but will have to decide whether to keep Massimo Zappino in goal or whether to recall Nicola Leali.

Gian Piero Gasperini won’t have this luxury as he continues to battle injury problems with Ezequiel Munoz and Blerim Dzemaili being the latest casualties and they won’t play in the match.
