FrosinoneFrosinone host Hellas Verona at the Stadio Matusa on Sunday afternoon in Serie A.

The Canarini currently sit in the relegation zone in 18th position with 11 points but are just two points adrift from safety. Verona on the other hand are 19th on just six points having failed to win a game this season.

Frosinone’s recent run of form has the Canarini feeling optimistic about securing Serie A football next campaign, although that optimism may have been dampened by last week’s 4-0 thrashing at the hands of league leaders Inter. On the contrast Verona have not collected a point in their last two matches, both 2-0 losses to Napoli and Bologna. The Gialloblu have not found the back of the net in Serie A action since October 25th when Artur Iontita score the lone goal in a 4-1 loss to Sampdoria.

This will be just the third meeting between the two clubs and the first action in Serie A. The other two meetings came in the 2006/2007 Serie B campaign with Frosinone having the advantage securing a 2-1 home victory and drawing on their travels at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.

Frosinone will be aiming to solve their defensive woes that has seen them allow 11 goals in their last four matches – Verona will be hopeful that the defensive issues of the Canarini will continue and that they can take advantage and add to their poor tally of just eight league goals.

Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini will be without a whole host of his core players when his side takes to the pitch.  Midfielders Federico Viviani, Romulo, and Jacopo Sala will all miss the match as they are all injured. Defenders Matteo Bianchetti, Rafael Marquez and Michelangelo Albertazzi are all also dealing with injuries and will not be available to Mandorlini.

Frosinone coach Roberto Stellone will have almost a full squad at his disposal. The only absences will be that of defenders Daniel Pavolic and Adrino Russo as well as winger Massimiliano Carlini.
