beaten 6-1 by Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday night, Roma coach Rudi Garcia refused to blame his side, claiming the Catalans are impossible to defeat.

Instead the French tactician focused on the positive of the draw played out in Belarus by BATE Borisov and Bayer Leverkusen, which leaves the Giallorossi in control of their own destiny in the competition.

“The only good news of the evening was the draw between BATE and Bayer,” Garcia told Mediaset Premium.

“Our fate is now in our hands. Tonight we needed a miracle against a stratospheric team, which is enjoying its best period.

“As they say in France, they are unplayable.”

Although the 51-year-old admitted that the Giallorossi should have taken the lead through an Edin Dzeko header, he expressed his belief that it would not have stopped the La Liga leaders from winning.

“We could have scored an early goal, but we would have lost anyway,” claimed the Frenchman.

“They are a team of champions, and have created brilliant goals.

“I have nothing to blame my team for, only the management of the ball in the first-half.

“Again, it was impossible to win. Of course, we do not like losing by such a big margin, but I’m not worried.”
