Napoli midfielder Marek Hamsik has praised his side’s patience in their 2-0 win over Hellas Verona.
The Gialloblu managed to stifle the Neapolitans until the 67th minute when Lorenzo Insigne opened the scoring with a brilliant finish, before Gonzalo Higuain secured the points seven minutes later with another composed effort.
“It was a tough game,” the Slovakian told Napoli’s website.
“We weren’t at our best and Hellas Verona were concentrated solely on defending.
“We were patient but managed to score two goals.
“We are really happy we won a tough game.”
Hamsik has been in fine form this season in a new, much deeper midfield role. So far the 27-year-old has scored once and created another three goals.
Napoli currently lie in second place in Serie A just two points behind pace-setters Inter.
