Mandorlini - Hellas VeronaHellas Verona coach Andrea Mandorlini confesses to missing star striker Luca Toni after his side’s 2-0 loss to Bologna.

The Gialloblu were beaten on their own patch when Emanuele Giaccherini and Godfred Donsah both scored and they reamin the only side yet to win in Serie A.

“We had prepared for the game well, but going two down hit us very hard,” Mandorlini told Sky Sport Italia.

“It was difficult for us on a psychological level, we definitely missed the presence of Luca Toni up front.

“It will be an uphill battle for us, if we lose this many games then there is obviously a real problem.”

Verona are now second from bottom in the Serie A table, failing to win in their last 14 league games.

“There is bitterness and sorrow, we want to do more but we can’t,” concluded Mandorlini.
