The 28-year-old Belgian international has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the Azzurri staring eleven this season and has only started twice in Serie A so far this campaign.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter could tempt Napoli  with a bid for the former PSV Eindhoven forward in the January transfer window, as Nerazzurri coach Roberto Mancini looks to add more creativity and goal threat to his squad.

Partenopei coach Maurizio Sarri has preferred Lorenzo Insigne and Jose Callejon to partner Gonzalo Higuain in his front three, with the former Utrecht winger having to settle for a place on the bench.

Napoli would, however, be reluctant to let the Belgian go and could offer the forward a new contact to stave off interest despite him still having two and a half years left on his current deal.

The former Gent winger joined Napoli from PSV in June 2013 for €9.5 million, and has made 74 appearances, scoring 18 times in Serie A in that time.
