Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner believes the Bianconeri can now fight back to retain their league title.
Lichtsteiner was forced off the field during a match with Frosinone earlier in the season, having experienced breathing difficulties which later lead the Swiss international to undergo minor heart surgery, but made a remarkable return to play and scored in his first appearance back against Borussia Monchengladbach.
“We must always believe,” the 31-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.
“The season is long, and we must think about it game by game.
“The goal is to earn as many points as possible leading up to the Christmas break, and then see how we do in 2016.”
Juventus sealed their place in the next round of the Champions League courtesy of their 1-0 victory over Manchester City.
“We did very well in the Champions League, despite having one of the strongest and most difficult groups,” the full back said.
“Winning twice over City, I think we’ve shown we can compete with everyone in Europe.”
