Sami KhediraSami Khedira has spoken about adapting to life at Juventus and has praised the Italian club.

The German international joined Juve on a free from Real Madrid in the summer and Khedira believes football is a religion in Italy.

“In Italy they live for football, it is like a religion,” Khedira told German magazine Kicker.

“I’m very happy to be at Juventus.

“Juventus are a great club and as soon as the chance to move to the club presented itself I couldn’t pass it up.”

Khedira was part of the Germany side that won the World Cup last year in Brazil and he has spoken about his future plans with the German national side.

“We’re preparing for the European Championships,” Khedira added.

“We’re aware of our strengths and we’ve shown how good we can be in the past.

“I don’t agree with some of those who chose to leave after the World Cup, we experienced players have to help the next generation come through into the side.

“We have to let them integrate calmly, so they feel at ease on and off the pitch.”
