Douglas - DniproDnipro Dnipropetrovsk central defender Douglas looks poised to join Lazio when the transfer window opens in January.

The 25-year-old joined the Ukrainian side in 2013 from Vasco da Gama, where he has grown into an integral part of the back-line.

According to Corriere dello Sport the Biancoceleste are prepared to offer €4 million for the Brazilian, much less then Dnipro have specified.

Douglas is valued at €10m by Dnipro and has already attracted strong interest from Turkey in both Galatasaray and Besiktas.

Lazio coach Stefano Pioli is keen to find a stand-in for the injured Stefan De Vrij, with Douglas topping his list of candidates.

Dnipro will travel to Italy to face Lazio in their weekday Europa League tie, providing a chance to discuss the defender.

The home side will secure qualification to the next round, but the attention will certainly be drawn to the Brazilian.

Douglas has played 17 matches in all competitions, including all four of their Europa League fixtures so far.

The defender has been praised for his aerial prowess and ability to initiate attacking moves from the back.

De Vrij joins Stefano Mauri and Miroslav Klose who are both unavailable to Pioli due to injury concern.

Lazio have also been linked with Marseille defender Nicolas Nkoulou, but will be a costly addition.
