Empoli playmaker Riccardo Saponara.

The Italian midfielder impressed enough on his first stint with Empoli to earn a short-lived transfer to Milan in 2013, from which he returned to the Azzurri this past summer.

Tuttosport reports that while Serie A giants Juventus are keen on the 23-year-old, he might instead be tempted by a move away from Italy to Liverpool.

In nine appearances since his return to Tuscany in the summer, Saponora has scored four goals and set up four assists in Serie A.

If a move away from Empoli were to materialise, it likely would net a healthy return for the relatively tiny club, perhaps as much as €20 million.

Any such transfer would have to wait until the end of the season to be completed however as Empoli are thought to want to get at least a full season from the player.
