English Premier League giants Liverpool are prepared to fork out €35 million for Inter striker Mauro Icardi.

The Reds are apparently keen on the Inter captain as they look to prise him away from the Stadio Giuseppe Meaza. In addition, the Argentinian international was recently consigned to the bench by coach Roberto Mancini which only fuels speculation about his departure from the Nerazzurri.

According to Liverpool Echo, the Premier League outfit are ready to offer as much as €35 million for the Argentine.

Liverpool though might face stiff competition for the 22-year-old with clubs such as Chelsea and Real Madrid also expressing their interest in him when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Icardi has scored 39 goals in 80 competitive appearances for Inter since joining from Sampdoria in 2013 and was joint Capocannoniere of Serie A last season.
