Maicon RomaRoma defender Maicon believes that taking a point from Bologna is not such a bad result, and he remains determined to claim victory in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The Giallorossi played out a 2-2 draw with the Rossoblu on Saturday evening despite going 2-1 ahead, and Maicon has claimed that the success of the newly promoted side is partially down to their new coach Roberto Donadoni, who joined the team in October.

“Since Bologna changed coached they have had a new season,” said Maicon to Premium Sport.

“We tried to play our game and a point in the end is not so bad.”

The Brazilian international then discussed his former teammate Mattia Destro, who got Bologna’s equaliser on Saturday, after joining them from the Italian capital in the summer.

“Destro is a great player, he has proved it once again,” added Maicon.

Roma’s next fixture is a tough trip to Spain on Tuesday night to face Barcelona in the Champions League, and the full-back insists he still has the determination to collect all three points.

“We have to continue on our way, given that we have another important game in the Champions League on Tuesday,” Maicon went on.

“We still have our winning mentality.”
