Rugani JuveOut of favour Juventus defender Daniele Rugani is being lined up by Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal as a possible January transfer.

Rugani’s performances resulted in nationwide praise during his time at Empoli in the 2014-15 Serie A season but has failed to find regular football under Massimiliano Allegri since making the switch to Turin.

As reported by Mirror.co.ukthe Old Trafford side have been keeping tabs on Rugani, with a view to making a January move to lure him away from the current Scudetto holders.

The impressive 21-year-old is also thought to be on the radar of Arsenal and Napoli, with the latter currently being coached by Maurizio Sarri, who Rugani knows well from his time in Tuscany.

The defender is yet to feature in Serie A for the Bianconeri this season and has made just a solitary substitute appearance in the Champions League, which came in the 88th minute against Sevilla in September.

United also recruited defensively from Italy in the summer as they signed Matteo Darmian from Juventus’ Turin-based neighbours, Torino.
