Valero - Fiorentina

English Premier league giants Manchester United are considering a move for Fiorentina star Borja Valero.

The Spaniard has been in fine form this season for La Viola, looking rejuvenated under coach Paulo Sousa and it hasn’t taken long for several European outfits to catch their eye on the Tuscan’s star prize.

According to reports from Swiss newspaper Blick, scouts from Manchester United were spotted in the crowd during Thursday night’s 2-2 draw between FC Basel and Fiorentina in the Europa League.

Whilst the English side hold a known interest in Basel’s young sensation Breel Embolo, it is believed that they used the opportunity to gather information on Fiorentina’s key midfielder.

The Red Devils’ midfield has come under heavy criticism this year for its lack of threat and creativity, with Valero seen as a potential candidate to spark new life into the middle of the park.

However, the midfielder recently announced his desire to end his career with Fiorentina and is unlikely to be tempted away with the risk of losing out on first team opportunities.

Valero is additionally considered untouchable by the Viola hierarchy, having scored 12 goals and assisted a further 30 since moving from Villarreal in 2012.
