Mexes - ACLazio goalkeeper Federico Marchetti has taken full responsibility for his side’s 3-1 Serie A defeat to AC Milan on Sunday.

The Italian shot-stopper was at fault for the first and second Milan’s three goals on the night, as he allowed Andrea Bertolacci and Philippe Mexes to score for the Rossoneri.

Marchetti took to Twitter after the game to apologise to the Biancocelesti supporters and take the blame for the defeat.

“I am sorry for the bad result, I take full responsibility for this defeat. Now we must think about Thursday and then the derby! Come on guys,” the 32-year-old posted.

Marchetti has featured in nine of Lazio’s 11 Serie A matches to date and has kept three clean sheets in the process.
